ImageThis humble springtime vignette puffs its chest out in the entryway, with a heartwarming greeting inviting me in!  Seashells lounging on the unfinished wooden box evoke images of beach time relaxation and frolicking to come ,while the crystal glass sidled up to it provides elegance – okay, so a ‘little bit’ of elegance!  The complementary colours of the blue butterfly and the peach flowers is striking against the fairly neutral palette.  Greenery bestows life and movement into the arrangement.  Switching out only the flowers and the butterfly box with other home décor items from time to time, will be a fresh treat for the eyes, as a new ambience is create!

Thrift Store Vignette This thrift store vignette features an interesting mix of surfaces and texture. Antique gold finishes with smoky quartz glass on the lamp play beautifully with the glass bowl filled with neutral colored faux flowers and natural elements.  A crystal container with an elegant lid is subtly contrasted against the unfinished wooden box it sits on.  The deep tarnishing of the silver mug has a delicious patina and is a needed shot of darker color tones in that area of the grouping.   Leafy branches sit in the pottery planter, which adds height to that side of the vignette, as well as providing a soft feature.  The picture in the background (what you can see of it!) shows a bird sitting on a reed in water and so,  this backdrop infuses life into the arrangement, and welcomes muted shades of blues, greens, and beiges.  Everything is this photo – except for the table it sits on – was found for a total of less than $45, and it was a fun journey!
